Get Involved

Each year, more than 250 volunteers unite and give their time to help provide individuals with essential services.

By donating your time and talents, you make a difference for thousands living in Atlantic and Cape May Counties. JFS welcomes all volunteers whether individually, as a family, or with your business or group of friends.

Choose the amount of time to give, how, and where to help.

Be a volunteer at a fundraising event like the Golf Tournament, House Tour or Card Party. Assist with check-in, raffle sales, auction, contests, and more.

Sort & Stock
Help unload, stock, and organize food and toiletry items, as well as pack bags for distribution.

Bulk Delivery
Unload, inventory and put away the bulk delivery of food and products.

Supermarket Collections
Our local grocery stores like Shoprite, Acme & Walmart generously allow JFS to restock our necessities through on-site collections. Volunteers distribute flyers, request items, and collect donations.

Throughout the year, the community makes a difference with various collections. From gathering school bags and supplies to our annual turkey drive, as well as the general Jewish holiday donations and kid-friendly snacks in summer, there are plenty of ways to get involved or host your own Community Collection and make a meaningful impact.

Unlock the power of team building and community impact with your business or company. Give back to the community while strengthening bonds among your team members as JFS Corporate Volunteers.
Schools, troops, National Honor Society, families, and friends are encouraged to volunteer collectively or individually to fulfill service hour requirements, mitzvah projects, engage in community service, or simply for fun!
Engaging adults 55+ in volunteer services. RSVP, funded by AmeriCorps Seniors, is a network of volunteers who help maintain and strengthen their communities while enriching their own lives. Often RSVP volunteers help Village members to embrace the neighbors helping neighbors model.

Village By the Shore

Friendly Visitors
Volunteers brighten the day of Village members by offering companionship with visits and phone check-ins. Friendly visitors donate one hour each week.

Grocery Shopping & Delivery
Volunteers assist by placing online orders, picking up groceries from any Atlantic County ACME and then coordinating delivery and helping to put food away in the member’s home.

Kosher Meals on Wheels
Ready-to-eat Kosher meals are delivered by volunteers on a weekly basis to dozens in our community. Volunteers select a variety meals (fish, lasagna, chicken, fresh fruit, soup, and dessert) based on a member’s preferences and personally deliver to their home. Meals are packed at the Margate office and delivered to residents in throughout Atlantic County.

Phone Check-Ins
Bi-weekly phone call check-ins are a great way to offer socialization and support while working within a flexible schedule.

Simple Home Maintenance
Help change a light bulb, replace batteries in a smoke detector, or hang pictures. There are countless simple home maintenance services that volunteers can do to help Village members.

Technology Assistance
Whether helping set up e-mail, reviewing manuals, or showing a Village member how to log-on to Zoom, technology assistance is an excellent way to help others become more connected and feel comfortable with their computer, cell phone or digital camera.

Trash / Recycling Valet
Help Village members by taking out their trash and recycling.

Volunteers are needed throughout the year to assist with mailings, shredding, phone calls, and various other office support.
